ABOUT

Hi

My name is Andrew Fehrsen. I am passionate about all things web and technology related. I am focused and goal orientated. I like getting things done. Especially things that most people struggle to get done. I am a problem solver. I think outside the box. I wake up and go to bed catching up on the latest trends. I follow only the best web people and love learning from them. I hope to one day be one among them.

WORK EXPERIENCE

2014-Current

eNCA

Senior Front end developer

I made the move to eNCA when an aquiantance informed me of the position. At first I was hesitant as making a move is never easy especially once established in a position over a lengthy period, but once I saw the product and met with the head of development, Jason Adriaan. The project excited me and I was enticed to make the move. My resposnibilities include leading the front end team and tasks as well as reporting back to stakeholders. I have grown so much already in my short time here and see myself growing even more over the years to come.

2011-2014

Applogix

Front end web developer

Forgood ran into financial problems when a major funder pulled a lot of their funding. This is when I made the jump to the development partner on the forgood project, Applogix. I have been with the company for 2.5 years. My skills have grown immensely in my time here. I have pushed myself to the limits. I have focussed my efforts to front end development as have found this is where my passions lay. My specialisation has become responsive web development. From UX (User Experience), to design and build. I fully believe that mobile is the future of the web and hence my focus on mobile first development. If a user cannot use a site on mobile, then it's worthless.

2010-2011

Heartlines

Web design & developer

I made the jump into digital when I started with Heartlines. I was brought on to asisst with the design and build of their social network - forgood. I learnt a lot at my time with Heartlines. For my first 6 months with them, I was based at the digital agency - You&Me, now Publica who won the tender to design and build the front end of forgood.

2009-2010

Freelance

Print & digital designer

I freelanced when I returned from Australia. I mostly had print design design. My clients included Fifa Beach Soccer South Africa &s; Rage Clothing SA. I also did a lot of smaller print design jobs - logos, website and general marketing print material.
